Ramona’s marriage had ended,
and it had enhanced her life.
She saw it as adding by subtracting;
her ignorant excuse of a husband
had made the last few months seem like
a tortuous eternity. But, that was the thing
that carried the harshest sting.
How far did she have to fall in the course of a year.
A swift kick in the balls… er, drawers
would have curled him over like pork rind.
Never mind the woman scorned!
There is nothing worse than a housewife spurned!

Almost anytime someone puts a spin on common sayings, it delights me. This is good, Walt. I like a swift kick in the balls…er drawers. LoL
Confession: The “balls” popped off of the screen at steered this piece. And a swift kick will surely get one’s attention.
I’m in agreement with Brenda, that line made me chuckle, Walt!!
Smiles to you! 🙂
Walt – good to see you whirling! I love your use of “subtracting.” A clever line.
The addition of subtraction puts the status quo in balance. Thanks Paula.
I love your spin on the wordle words. Excellent poem.
Thanks Jo Ann.
Glad you are having fun, Walt. You do seem indomitable. I’m going to have to hold you up as a role model when my RLS kicks in.
When given the chance, I always chose to dance. Unfortunately, sometimes I’m not awake when it happens. I feel for your restlessness.
yeah, that swift kick will do it. Glad to see you posting, hope you are well.
Well is all relative, Mark. But thank you for the support and well wishes.
Your wordle made me laugh out loud. Slapstick humor? Justice? Just plain fun!
Left comments for you there. Thanks for stopping in and laughing. I don’t spread enough joy!
Walt, I also, enjoyed how you turned that common phrase round. Thanks for the laugh. Good write.
Thanks Pamela. I’ll repeat my spreading joy line. (Beats heck out of spreading manure!) Have a good laugh on me anytime!
Aha – well done! i see we had some common thoughts. I like yours better, though.
It’s in the eye of the beholder, JzB. I’d say the same for yours.
Sounds like she feels really good now, good for her! Wonderful writing!
Thank you, Inger!
Heehee. This made me giggle, Walt. SO good to see you writing.
So good to be seen, De! I seemed to have found a bit of my wit, anyway!

She surely deserves a standing “O”! It does get one’s attention.
Methinks Ramona is a force to be reckoned with! I enjoyed this.
‘Mona doesn’t take crap from anyone. Glad you enjoyed the bit, Mary!
Love the pork rind! Hope you are feeling well.
Thank you Sara. That was a stretch, but that’s all that came to mind at that moment. I’m progressing. It helps to have such wonderful friends to help me along!
I believe laughter is some of the best medicine. Thank you for making it happen. On another note, Ramona seems a wee bit familiar, if only in memory. Absolutely loved the turn around on the end. Truth does seek light. Thanks for visiting my site and for your kind words,
Thanks Elizabeth. Kinds words were most deserving, and glad to offer up a good laugh!
Now it is nearly midnight-and I thought I would stop over and make sure you were resting..

I’m glad it brightened your day, Veronica. With or without the drawers! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Clever, clever — pork rinds. A ‘crackling’ poem, Walt!
Yeah Misk, I still got it! Thanks.
Well done, Walt! Favorite line: “would have curled him over like pork rind.”
A silly throw away line that thrills me now that I look at it again. Thanks for the support Marianne!
Cracked me up again..like “She saw it as adding by subtracting;
her ignorant excuse of a husband”.
Irene, that’s just math made easy. In a playful mood; I seem you be cracking everyone up on this wordle. Thanks for the comments.
Very clever, Walt. I chuckled under my breath. I like the part where she subtracted her husband. That was a good turn of phrase.
Thanks Cheryl, but never suppress a chuckle. They’re best expressed as giddy guffaws! Again, my math skills serve me well! 😉 Thanks for popping over.
Lol, never expected a guy to write that. Love it.
Yeah, guys can surprise sometimes! 😉 Glad you enjoyed it, Cathy.
Walt, “adding by subtracting” – I like this woman. I wouldn’t want her on my bad side.
