COMPOSER’S CORNER

Words and music by Walt Wojtanik

Plans are for my melodies and lyrics (and complete compositions) to find a home here in the Composer’s Corner. Written over the span of 42 years, these melodic expressions are tabbed to be included in my first musical, “STAGE FRIGHT”

TELL IT TO MY HEART

A lyric by Walter J Wojtanik

I haven’t seen you girl, in all these years.
I had to fight the longing,
fight the tears.
You left with so much left to say
but you truly felt the only way
was to leave me here.
Say the words I need to hear,
Tell it to my heart.

It seems the love we shared could not compare
with love you’ve read in stories
telling of the glory,
My heart was torn and tattered there,
but you just left, you didn’t care
I was bleeding too,
I was needing you as such,
Say the words I want so much,
Tell it to my heart.

     Tell it to my heart
     before you go,
     Tell it to my heart
     so it will know,
Love is not a part-time thing,
it should not bring you down,
     let it hear the sound.
      Tell it to my heart.

Long ago and far away, I gave my heart,
I thought it was the way to go,
thought it was the place to start.
But your pillow feels so cold,
since you left here, I feel old.
Listen Darlin’, hear my plea,
say the words so I can see.
So tell me, tell it to my heart.

     Tell it to my heart
     before I die,
     Tell it to my heart
     just tell me why
love is now a throw away,
I’ll live to love another day,
there’s still no relief, I can’t believe it,
     Tell it to my heart.
     It’s listening now,
     Tell it to my heart!

ANGELS CRIED AT CHRISTMAS

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik

Hearts of joy,
Playing in this world of love and happenstance.
Little minds,
Wanting just to learn of life’s glad circumstance.
Standing on the brink of years,
Standing tall in spite of fears
with open eyes.
Gentle souls; their mothers’ dears,
rained upon with angels tears,
oh, how they cry,
I’ll tell you why…

Another day,
Never knowing what’s in store, so unprepared.
Not the way
Children’s lives are supposed to be; confused and scared.
No one could have guessed their fate,
Mercy came, but much too late
for little ones.
So much love within their hearts,
Just waiting for their lives to start,
Oh, how we cry,
Tell me why.

The angels cried at Christmas,
Hearken angel voices sing a new refrain.
Now every year at Christmas,
Angel tears will fall again in sorrow’s stain.
Come now Angel, it’s okay,
Let love wipe your tears away
though your smile is gone.
Here now Angel, it’s all right,
Every new star shines so bright,
like your love, your light lives on and on.

Your Momma knows,
Deep within she feels your hand upon her heart.
And Daddy knows,
That even though you’re gone, you’re never far apart.
Babies when you left that day,
Angels now where angels play,
All looking down.
Missing Grandma’s warm embrace,
Grandpa won’t forget your face,
So, dry your eyes.
Please, don’t cry.

The angels cried at Christmas,
listen to the angels sing a new refrain.
Feel our love at Christmas,
Angel tears will flow with love ‘til we meet again.
Come now Angel, it’s okay,
Let love wipe your tears away,
though your smile is gone.
Here now Angel, it’s all right,
Every new star shines so bright,
like your love, your light lives on and on.

The angels cried (please dry your eyes)
The angels cried (a tearful sigh)
The angels cry,
Yes they cry at Christmas.

FINE WINE, MOONSHINE AND A BOTTLE OF PERRIER®

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik

Giggle if you feel the need
but as crazy as it seems,
anything is better
than sleeping through your dreams.
Every sense and sensation,
will cut you to the quick,
forget your frustration,
losing love can make you sick…

We should have been fine wine,
but we went down like moonshine,
and I promise that the next time
I’ll stick with a bottle of Perrier®.
It could have been the best time,
from the first to the last rhyme,
not just another fast time
with the one that got away.
I would’ve been, I could’ve been,
I should’ve been…here with you.

In spite of all the chattering,
things said were unflattering,
and even if it shatters me,
I’ll take my chance with you.

Better wake up and cut loose,
scoop up all the remnants that remain.
Everything is better
when you stay and play the game.
Lock down and load up,
and don’t cave in to life’s demands,
double down, don’t split up
you’ve been dealt the winning hand…

We could have been fine wine,
but we settled on moonshine,
and I promise that the next time
I’ll stick with a bottle of Perrier®.
It should have been the best time,
from the first to the last rhyme,
not just another fast time
with the one that got away.
I would’ve been, I could’ve been,
I should’ve been…here with you.

HORN-RIMMED GLASSES

glassesLyric by Walter J. Wojtanik

So you ain’t twenty-twenty,
but girl that ain’t no shame,
’cause the truth of it, Honey,
is I’ve learned to play the game.
Seeing is believing,
and girl I see it clear,
looks can be deceiving,
come and sit yourself right here…

I think you’re so damn pretty
and I love your big blue eyes,
but living in the city
has you wearing this “disguise”.
And those guys aren’t seeing
all the beauty that you do,
and the way that they’re being
you would think it might be true…

They say men don’t make passes
at girls wearing horn-rimmed glasses,
but maybe the masses just
don’t know what they’ve been missin’
Brothers, I’ll be kissin’ them
and steaming up their lenses,
the difference ‘tween them girls is
while yours is cleaning contact lenses
I’ll be making contact friends
with the girl, with the girl, with the girl
with the horn-rimmed glasses.

So don’t fret a thing dear
for you know they aren’t too bright,
when we’re doin’ our thing dear
they’ll be home alone at night.
Yes, seeing is believing,
and I believe I’ve won the prize,
your sighs are so relieving,
seeing you with my own four-eyes…

          She’ll be seeing clearer,
the closer I get near her,
and pretty soon I’ll hear her
          whispering my name…

They say men don’t make passes
at girls wearing horn-rimmed glasses,
but maybe the masses just
don’t know what they’ve been missin’
Brothers, I’ll be kissin’ them
and steaming up their lenses,
the difference ‘tween them girls is
while yours is cleaning contact lenses
I’ll be making contact friends,
with the girl, with the girl, with the girl
with the horn-rimmed glasses.

Making eyes with the girl
in the horn-rimmed glasses.

BEAUTIFUL

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2009

On the horizon of love,
I searched the crashing waves for the sound of you.
Growing together, apart,
I kept your love alive here, deep in my heart,
Wishing for your smile,
Knowing all the while,
The place you hold in my life.

A lonely lifetime limped by,
Until your auburn glow transformed my sky.
The loving sunrise you gave
Started my pulse again with each passing day,
Easing saddened fears
When you re-appeared
To share this life that we once knew, making you…

Beautiful.
That’s what you are to me.
Beautiful.
I wish that you would see,
You’re my shining star,
And we’ve both come so far,
to be standing here, hand-in-hand.

Magical.
The way you make me feel.
Wonderful.
To know this love is real.
When I take your hand,
That’s when I understand,
How beautiful you truly are, in my eyes you’re beautiful.

Warmed by the turn of your heart,
I kiss your passioned lips, and my heart re-starts.
With all the good things in you,
In this beholder’s eyes, your beauty shines through.
Grace me with your charms,
Come back to my arms,
And welcome me back to your soul, back to your heart.

Now it doesn’t seem the girl of my dreams ever left me.
And it didn’t feel that this whole ordeal would revive.
But we held onto the love that fueled our hearts for years,
Making us, feel alive.

Beautiful.
This love we’ve come to share.
Beautiful,
I’m glad I found you there.
Despite time and space,
We’ve resumed our place
And it’s beautiful,
Being back in your arms.

Magical.
The spell you cast strikes true.
Wonderful.
I’m here beholding you.
No illusion, I can see,
you will always be
So beautiful,
you remain so Beautiful in my life.

WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2011

Sitting here I watch your picture on the wall,
dancing to the gentle strains of melodies we knew.
Memories we’ve shared; the times that showed we cared,
fade away in thoughts of you.

All alone at night I wonder where you are
and I wonder if you think about me now and then,
thoughts inside my head are better left unsaid
since my heart fell from your hands.

Where are you now,
now that I need you?
Where are you now,
wishing somehow you still need me too,
the way you used to do.

Looking in your eyes was like a dream come true,
feeling all the little things I learned so hard to need.
But, now I look around and realize, I’ve found
just how much I need you still.

Where are you now,
now that I need you?
Where are you now?
I just don’t believe in love anymore
since you’ve walked out my door. Now you’re gone.

SUNSET EYES

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1985

Listening  to  the  sea  birds  call, and  thinking,
as  a  hint  of  nightfall  fills the  skies.
Off  on  the  horizon,  girl, I  see  you .
looking  deep  into  your  Sunset Eyes.

I can  feel  your  amber  arms  caress  me.
the smile  upon  your  face, it  soothes  and  warms.
Glowing face  of  angels,  you   possess  me,
Sunset Eyes protect  me  from  the  storm.

Your sparkling water’s flashing,
your waves are softly crashing here on the sand.
Charging, then returning back to the sea.
Your gentle hands keep falling,
your spraying softness calling, calling my name.
Sunset Eyes return your love to me.

Why is it you tease me with your wonder,
Make  me want to take you in my arms?
Unashamed, you cast this spell I’m under.
Sunset Eyes embrace me with your charms.

Your face is always changing,
expressions rearranging there on the sand.
Chameleon of colors there in the skies.
Our looks are ones of sorrow,
but we’ll be back tomorrow, standing in time.
Gazing deep into your Sunset Eyes.

Listening to the ocean’s song, and thinking,
as a hint of nightfall fills the skies.
Searching my horizon, girl, to see you.
It’s so good to see you, Sunset Eyes.
It’s so good to love you, Sunset Eyes.

I’m so glad I love you, Sunset Eyes.

TAKE THE STAGE

(Ashley’s Theme)

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2010

You fill our eyes with make believe,
And have us clapping ‘til you leave.
Keeping your fans all wanting more,
Hungry for your next encore.
Live your life; your greatest role,
Keep us laughing, touch our souls,
Tell your story, fill our hearts.
We’re waiting for your show to start,

Take the stage.

Step on stage, release your fear,
Take a bow
Every time we cheer
Leave us breathlessly standing here,

Take the stage.

Take the stage,
You’ve got it all.
Sing until the curtains fall.
Charm your fans with every smile, all the while,

Take the stage.

The world’s a stage and we all must play,
And live to thrill another day,
Always remember your simple start
And seek your comfort in our hearts.
With so much talent, you’ll go far,
Our favorite lead, our shining star,
Fill my eyes with make believe.
Keep me watching ‘til you leave.

Take the stage.

Step on stage, suspend our minds,
You’re all the rage
When you say your lines
Do your best, and you’ll do fine,

Take the stage.

Take the stage,
You’ve got it all.
Celebrate life’s curtain call.
Be the star we know you’ll be, wait and see.

Take the stage.

DAYS LONG GONE

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1970

Long ago, I dreamed I’d see a face,
filling up my space with love and tenderness.
Gentle wind, blowing through my hair,
knowing you were there for me. Alone.

Seeing you, a vision for my eyes,
take me by surprise and never let me go.
Hearing you, and all the songs you sing,
the happiness you bring just being you.

In DAYS LONG GONE I held you.
Where did you go?
My arms are empty now, but my heart still knows.
The DAYS LONG GONE are fading deep in my mind.
I wish you well, but baby, I’ll wait to find another love (like yours).

Yesterday, there was magic in your eyes,
stars filled up the skies and you were by my side.
But, today the stars all disappear,
and I’m left standing here all alone.

In DAYS LONG GONE I held you
Where did you go?
My arms are empty now, but my heart still knows.
The DAYS LONG GONE are fading deep in my mind.
I wish you well, but baby, I’ll wait to find another love (like yours).

FEELINGS INSIDE OF ME

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2004

You entered my life,
And helped me find the things I’ve lost.
You’re helping me feel how I used to feel.
And, should I say,
It really seems the way I’ve dreamed.
Though all of my life, I have searched for you.

Being myself,
Is really easy when you’re near.
You don’t ask for kings or wild promises.
You’re a woman/ you’re a child,
Your love is wild and all I know
Are all the FEELINGS INSIDE OF ME.

Oh, what you do to me!
You’re helping me see who I am.
Being with you is like a fantasy,
I’m in a wonderland when you’re near.

What can I say
to let you know the way I feel?
Should I be a fool and just walk away?
My head’s full of you,
You paint my mind to match your soul.
My sunsets are you and my starlight too!

When I’m with you,
I can’t believe how good I feel.
I wish that we’d never have to part.
I’m a man/ I’m a child,
You drive me wild and all I am,
Are all the FEELINGS INSIDE OF ME.

Oh, how to make you see!
I want you to see who I am.
I need you so much you’re a part of me,
I’m in a wonderland when you’re near
When you’re here.

I LOVE YOU ….. GOODBYE

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1981

Silhouettes against the sky,
You and I,
walking barefoot in the tide.
Warm, airy moonlight.
Soft, summer starlight.
You by my side.

Midnight magic in your eyes,
first I sigh,
then I tell you soft and true.
Holding you nearer,
Seeing you clearer.
Babe, I LOVE YOU.

We walk the sand, then we stop…
you take hold of my hand,
and whisper in my ear
all the things I long to hear,
and I’m wondering, “Why must you go?”
Now girl, you know I wish you well
and this time will only tell you of my love.

The wind grows cold, and my heart
keeps on calling your name,
I can feel the waves as they
rush up on the shore
and I’m wondering, “Why am I warm?”
Is it this fire in my heart
you left burning from the start with me?

GOODBYE.

LONG INTO THE NIGHT

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1981

The rhythm of my life would drag along
just like a song that never seemed to end,
and I was scared.
That all the dreams of pride inside,
would die inside without the chance to live and fly,
I know you cared.

You helped me fill my life with song,
my every day of life with song,
And afternoons. And nighttime too.
My every waking hour is you,
my favorite, fragrant flower is you
and in my songs, your heart belongs.

The golden moonlight sparkles in your eyes,
and I look at you and feel our life’s begun.
The stars sing out a chorus and we’re all alone.

LONG INTO THE NIGHT (I can feel it.)
It feels so right. (I can feel it.)
If you need to feel our hearts belong
together baby from now on,
If you need to feel my arms around you tight,

LONG INTO THE NIGHT. (I could love you.)
The feeling is right. (I could love you.)
I could love you ’til the sun stops shining bright,
LONG INTO THE NIGHT.

The melodies inside my mind would
smother me and leave me blind and full of fears,
within my heart.
And all the endless masquerades
of fairy tales and games I’ve played
all disappear when you come near.

You helped me fill my heart with love,
my ever aching heart with love.
And afternoons. And nighttime too!
My every waking hour is you,
my favorite, fragrant flower is you
and in my life, your love belongs.

LOVE’S IN SEASON

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1973

In the dead of night, when I’m all alone,
I lie back and think of you, waiting by the phone.
Listening for the bell, longing to be near,
here my voice I call your name, wishing you were here.

And I say, that I need you. (Don’t you know that by now.)
How I want you, come with me show me how you can love.

When the rains fall, and we’re walking hand-in-hand,
softly birds call, and  it seems we understand what they say.
How I need you, and I want you to stay mine,
we’re together and your smile makes my sun shine all the time.

I need you. Don’t you know LOVE’S IN SEASON?
I want you. Aren’t you glad LOVE’S IN SEASON?

Standing by your side, makes me feel so tall.
I’m in love with only you, giving you my all.
Love is for today, life is here and now.
Being here means more to me, more than you’d allow.

And I say, that I need you. (Don’t you know that by now.)
How I want you, come with me  show me how you can love.

When the snow falls, and we’re sitting home all alone.
Boxed by four walls, staring outside at the cold and we’re warm.
By the fire, dreams will melt before our eyes,
flames grow higher, windy winter softly sighs.

We hear it say…
I need you. Don’t you know LOVE’S IN SEASON?
I want you. Aren’t you glad LOVE’S IN SEASON?

ONE’S LOVE SONG

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1976

All my life I will remember, September and you.
Having you near me I’m under the wonder of you.
In your eyes I can see the glow, when I tell you I want you so,
and I need you to be here in my arms.
As the days pass I have to say, Love me now ’til you go away,
leave me knowing the magic of your charms.

When we kiss I get this feeling,
You’re stealing my heart.
But knowing you has made me certain,
It hurts when we’re apart.
Back together, I hold you tight,
Counting stars in the evening light.
Going places we’ve never been before.
Then I whisper so soft and kind,
Having you gives me peace of mind,
If this is love, please give me more.

When the night falls I’m beside you, and hide you from the storm.
The love that gathers up inside you is keeping me warm.
Knowing how much I mean to you, see your face in all things I do,
Walking nowhere together hand-in -hand.
Let me take you up to the stars. Happiness girl, is where you are,
Please, lady try to understand what I feel for you.

Thinking of you in the morning, your warning comes through.
But, after years of being lonely, I love only you.
When you’re troubled in any way, come to me I’m a call away.
If you’ve got a problem, I’ve got the time.
You mean more than the world to me, and I’m hoping you’ll always be.
Should the world end tomorrow, you’ll be mine.

THE DAWN OF YOU

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1980

Through all the times I stood alone,
afraid to try, to catch the eye of someone like you!
I realize as dreams subside,
I’d run to hide, and stay inside, lost in my blues.
But, being with you, ended my masquerade,
started my life’s parade,
I’m marching to a different drum than before,
I believe it more since THE DAWN OF YOU.

Of all the stories in my mind,
of heroes deeds and knights on steeds to challenge the world.
And from the corner of your room
I’d rescue you from being blue, with banners unfurled.
Then, riding away, you riding next to me
making it clear to see,
we’re headed for a  different dream than before,
and I need it more, since THE DAWN OF YOU,
Lady, since THE DAWN OF YOU.

I sit with my head in the sky.
Feeling the warmth of your eyes.
Holding you close in my heart,
I can’t believe it’s true, me here, holding you.

I search the softness of your face,
with eyes so brown, when you’re around there’s no better place.
And if you’d care to share some time,
my best is yours, the rest is yours, including this rhyme.
Songs locked in my soul, needing to be heard,
the melodies and words,
I’m singing you a different song than the rest
and I’ve found the best in THE DAWN OF YOU.

WHY SHOULD I?

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1980

If I need you,
will you come to me with open arms?
Or do I have to ask you on my knees,
begging pretty please to see you?

And should I want you,
must I take a number, stand in line,
only to find the dreams we used to share
were nothing more than wishful thinking?

Why?
WHY SHOULD I even care?
I’ve given all I can spare.
Now, emptiness fills the air.
I love you, but WHY SHOULD I?

If you need me,
I’d prob’ly run to you with open arms,
forget my pain, remember all your charms,
and stay right here ’til you don’t need me.

But, should I want you,
will I have to wait a million years,
between the heartaches and the billion tears,
for the thrill of being near you?

Why?
WHY SHOULD I even care?
I’ve given more than my share.
Now, loneliness fills the air.
I love you, but WHY SHOULD I?

YESTERDAY’S DREAMS

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1982

Unconvincing lies of strangers,
hidden dangers, of the dreams we used to share.
They tell me, try to tell me that you never cared,
taking me far away, another day… alone.

Silence of the night, it finds me,
and reminds me, of the emptiness inside.
It chills me, slowly kills me to think love has died.
Now that you’re far away, I’ve got to say… it’s true…

I can’t live on YESTERDAY’S DREAMS.
Making plans on yesterday’s schemes.
I’m all over dreaming of yesterday and you!

I’ve heard it said that breaking up is hard to do,
but it’s not half as hard if you know what to do.
So go your seperate way, without the urge to say…I love you.
Leaving me even more, like before so  far away……

Yeah, so now you’re gone, and I’m dealing
with the feeling and the emptiness subsides.
I’m starting from our parting, and I feel alive.
The lies of yesterday, are truth today, because…

I can’t live on YESTERDAY’S DREAMS.
No more plans on yesterday’s schemes.
I’m all over dreaming of yesterday and you!

I’ve heard it said that breaking up is hard to do,
but it’s not half as hard if you know what to do.
So go your seperate way, without the urge to say…I love you.
Leaving me even more, like before so  far away……

Yeah, so now you’re gone, and I’m dealing
with the feeling and the emptiness is gone.
I’m starting from our parting, and I’m moving on.
The lies of yesterday, are truth today, because…

I can’t live on YESTERDAY’S DREAMS.
No more plans on yesterday’s schemes.
I’m all over dreaming of yesterday and you!

YOUR LOVE’S NOT EVERYTHING

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1995

Here in the rain.
I walk alone with nothing to do,
getting soaked through to my ‘Fruit Of The Looms’.

Feeling this pain.
It won’t subside. Nowhere to go,
No one to turn to, nowhere to hide.

Needing you, wanting you, holding you in my dreams.
Seeing you, hearing you and all your schemes.
Not a day has gone by, that you’re not on my mind.
But today, it’s not hard to realize,
YOUR LOVE’S NOT EVERYTHING.

Cloudy all day.
Things look the same, no one to blame,
but it’s such a shame when love’s gone bad.

Yet in a way,
the lessons learned move me along,
help me go on with no bridges burned.

Standing here, full of fear, lost inside of myself.
Words one hears, full of tears are left on the shelf.
Not a night has gone by, that you’re not in my dreams.
But tonight, it’s not hard to compromise,
YOUR LOVE’S NOT EVERYTHING.

Its just the only thing to me.

LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2005

Love me or leave me,
Love me or walk away.
You better believe me
I’m not begging you to stay.
Through all the times we’ve had
You still want to treat me bad
Love me or leave me
Or hate me and go!

Love me or leave me,
Love me or walk away.
You live to deceive me
And someday I’ll make you pay
With all that you’ve put me through
I’m sure I’ll get over you
Love me or leave me,
Or hate me and go!

For all the times that I told you I loved you,
And for all the times that I showed you I cared,
If after all this time you don’t have me on your mind
Then I’ll never be there.

Love me or leave me,
Love me or walk away.
The day that you leave me
Will be like a holiday.
I wished you believed in me,
But now, just be leaving me,
Love me or leave me,
Or hate me and go!

For all the times that I told you I loved you,
And for the many times that I showed you I cared,
There’s nothing left to say, so why don’t you go away
And just leave me alone.

Love me or leave me,
Love me or walk away.
You better believe me
I’m not begging you to stay.
I wished you believed in me,
But now, just be leaving me,
Love me or leave me,
Or hate me and go!

Love me or leave me,
Or hate me and go!

OPEN MY EYES

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2005

Longer than lifetime, you’ve lived in my soul
Here deep inside me I’m blessed by your charms
With you in my arms, I’m feeling alive
And when you hold me, I lose all control

And when I see you, you OPEN MY EYES
Being around you fills me with desire
I’m caught in the fire that burns in your heart
and through your eyes I can see to your soul.

But when I OPEN MY EYES
And see how things could be, how they used to be again
I feel you open up your heart
Making a brand new start, we’ll never part again
OPEN UP MY EYES and make me see

Closer to heaven, my angel and I
That’s how it feels with you in my heart
Right from the start, you’ve taken me in
And when you’re near me, we’re sharing our love

And when I see you, you OPEN MY EYES,
When I hear you, you’re just like a song
Your music and words are the sweetest I’ve heard
And when I sing you, you fill me with love

But when I OPEN MY EYES
And wipe the sleep away, to a bright new day with you
It really comes as no surprise
That even when you’re not here, you’re always near to me
Please OPEN MY EYES and make me see…you.

And so when I kiss you, I OPEN MY EYES
I don’t want to miss that look on your face
I’m lost in your heart, and I’m deep in your soul
And when you love me, you OPEN MY EYES
And when you Kiss me, you OPEN MY EYES.

OPEN MY EYES!

(Give Me) A DREAM FOR MY HEART

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2006

I open my eyes to the challenge of life in this crazy world,
And I take on the task, seeking things that I lack, to carry me through.
So I keep my feet moving (never getting me there)
It just seems that people do nothing but stare
And I stay in one place looking up in the air
Searching for signs to clear up my mind, I wish for a dream.

It wasn’t so long that the sound of my song was light-hearted and free,
And the taste of success was as sweet as the rest and so easy to see.
So I’m striving for something I’ve wanted so bad
Putting all of me out there with all that I have
Hoping my gift will carry me far, right up to my star
I wish for my dream.

Give me a dream for my heart to cling to,
Believe in my chance to believe in myself
Dreams for a heart I can sing all my songs to
Give me a chance to believe in my dreams.

I’ll write you the words and I’ll sing from my soul
I’ll put you to music
Living this dream that I’ve cherished so long, for all of my life
So I’m list’ning for something, the beat of my heart,
Feeling determined, right from the star
I’ll take this emotion and leave them on stage, turning each page
I’m living my dream.

Give me a dream for my heart to cling to,
Believe in my chance to believe in myself
Dreams for a heart I can sing all my life to
Give me a chance to believe in my dreams.

Give me a dream for my heart to cling to,
Believe in my chance to believe in myself
Dreams for a heart I can sing all my life to
Give me a chance to believe in my dreams.

Give me a chance, give me a dream.

FEELINGS INSIDE OF ME

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 1978

You’re a woman/ you’re a child,
Your love is wild and all I know
Are all these FEELINGS INSIDE OF ME.

Ooh, what you do to me!

I’m a man/ I’m a child,
You drive me wild and all I am,
Are all these FEELINGS INSIDE OF ME.

Ooh, how to make you see!
I want you to see who I am.
I love you so much you’re a part of me,
        I’m in a wonderland when you’re near
When you’re here.

I WISH IT WEREN’T TRUE

Lyrics by Walter J. Wojtanik – © 2013

“Enough is enough”, I heard you say,
and I was miserable when you went away.
     I wish it were easy,
     I wish it were true,
You went straight to my heart,
     I had nothing to prove.
But you had different interests,
and I’ll say it again, I wish it weren’t true.

“I think you’re sweet”‘ I heard you say,
that’s when I figured that you would stay.
     But where did you go?
     You made such a fuss
and I wish it weren’t true
     but we were a bust.
We had different reasons,
and after it’s said, I wish it weren’t true.

    You sold me your lies
and I bought all your goods,
     your sad angel’s disguise
         had me thinking I should,
But here at the end we’re not even friends
I’ve had it with you! (I wish it were true.)

“There’s never enough”, I heard somebody say,
that’s what I thought when I asked you to stay.
     I wish it were easy,
     I wish it were you.
     You had nothing to prove;
     I wish it were true.
And as you cut my heart out
you just left me to shout, “I wish it weren’t true!”.

  2. Stagefright is a great name for a musical. It has a ring of Mel Brooks about it. You should see “The Producers” It has a memorable show stopper segment called Springtime for Hitler in Germany.Poem from 2004 is my favourite. If you are planning on using any dance formations involving swastikas, I can help you choreograph that in exchange for a sixpack of vodka:)
