Evening descends like a hushed silence,
and tranquility is its marker.
Her song is a lilting lullaby
in the shadows of the night.
There’s no threat of violence
as the midnight sky grows much darker.
The constellations fill the sky
contradicting darkness, bringing light.

Lovely. ❤
Loving the calm of this…most especially the juxtapositioning of light and dark in the final two lines. Ah those tranquil nights 🙂
Makes me want to go out, watching the stars
constellations are welcome friends in the darkness
Reading this made me feel tranquil. Lovely, Walt.
Thanks Sara. I write poetic “chill pills”!
Feelin’ the chill!
Those last two lines, the ending “contradicting darkness, bringing light” feels like hope to me. Peace. So much peace.
