Machismo, Bravado and Braggadocio met for drinks.
Each one thinks he’s the bigger man.
Looks can deceive and they all believe
their charms will have the ladies in their arms.
The first one played to the women, but
was shot down in flames. It seems
they’ve heard all his lines before.
The next was a pushy lout,
an incompetent boy scout, never prepared.
he never spared them from his conquests
and adventures, but had them scared at hello.
The loud mouth was harmless, all talk
but no game. It was a shame.
Lesson learned in three spurned.
Smoke and mirrors are great devices,
but just being you, truly suffices.
You should always live within your dreams,
Things always look bigger than they seem.

WELL!!! You had me at the title! I was smiling all the way through. LOVE it! You made my evening…and now I think I’ll go and get a cold glass of chardonnay and toast your efforts, my friend. Well done! 🙂
This is really creative! I like it. 🙂
Wonderful mental meanderings. Welcome to middle management, where clout is put behind all 3 of them. Imagine being supervised by someone with just one, maybe two, and sometimes all 3 of them. This kind of behavior is rewarded there.
What a cesspool of ego we see floating down stream. You shared it very well! Live within your dreams! nice play on words. Love it.
Oh indeed… this is exactly true to life, be yourself and when you least expect it, she is there.
We all spend way too much energy trying to be what we think will impress, instead of just being ourselves. Good descriptions. (K)
If you stick to being yourself, chances are you will meet people that have no pretenses.
Yep, the ultimate turn-off. Now give me Mr. Humble and you’ll have me swooning.
Interesting and engaging direction you’ve taken with your perspective on Amaya’s smoke & mirrors prompt Walter well written.
