Courage allows for our ethics to remain strong;
an idealism that is the antithesis
of what the common perception is.
A sense of decency and decorum.
A truth based in knowledge,
of good will, not bad faith.
Our punishment is the loss of freedom.

  1. I thought I understood what you meant and then, when I reread it, I got a little confused. Is the punishment if we do NOT have the courage of decency and decorum, and base our arguments on knowledge rather than bad faith, or is it the present situation a punishment for what we may not have stood up for in the past? Or a bit of both?
