The lake for now is calm,
wind warm and inviting.
I sit here upright while my pen
remains writing. I fight the urge
to let it rest and leave words for another day.
There’s a storm approaching,
its vile encroaching
on an idyllic life.

  1. Oh, I hope you are wrong. But, of course, eventually you will be right — for storms eventually come. But like the butterfly and the hurricane, causality will never be clear. Good poem.
