Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh
Starry Night
by Vincent van Gogh

Oh, night sky of swirling clouds,
stars ablaze, their luminescence shares
the bright crescent moon.
Exaggerated, in constant motion
every curve tracing, connecting
star-to-star; dot-to-dot with each star.
Your beauty takes hold.

Beneath the sweeping hill on the horizon,
the town rests. Peacefully flowing,
from building-to-building your colors are
cool, dark, fiery spires, streaking windows,
evoking memories of the embrace of home.
By-gone days. Imagination plays
in the dark, starry sky. The church steeple
beckons the people to notice her magnificence,
casting a shadow of security onto the town.
Within her size is a sensation of seclusion!

Curving to mimic the sweeping sky.
Adding depth to life, hidden within each of us.
We discover our mountain. Our obstacle.
Oh, starry night, your beauty takes hold!

Poetic Asides April Poem-A-Day Challenge – Day #22 : “Star ______”

Warm breezes waft,
a windward caress on this
night of endless stars.
Flickering pokes into
the shrouded black night,
leaving blurbs of light
to illuminate the sand
and star-crossed lovers,
finding their passion skip
along the rippled glass
in star light’s most fervent dance.

A cause to celebrate the splendor and majesty
of this magnificent orb upon which we live.
It provides us what we need, but sometimes our greed
becomes a destructive tool. The more foolish
we behave, the more grave its condition.
We are surely in no position to carry on in this manner.
Let us raise the banner in its honor. Respect and celebrate
the wonder of the earth upon which we live.

NaPoWriMo 2016 – Day# 22: “Earth Poem”

(You think these midi-chlorians are going to create themselves?)

Take your canon and blast it out your backside,
there has to be a backslide to tell the tale right.
It is a fight between good and evil, and farm boys
don’t just pop out of the sandy soils of Tatooine.
Do you mean to say that this space genealogy
has no merit? Tracing the family’s anthology is key.
Didn’t you like to see how Skywalker came to be?
How Anakin became Vader later?
How Supreme Leader Snoke is the brains behind
this whole epic battle? Or when he gets to say,
“Anakin, I am your father!!” (Speculated Spoiler Alert)
How much farther do you need to go to know?
So as to tell the tale without fail. The galaxy is much bigger
than all that. It’s only long ago and far, far away!

Is Supreme Leader Snoke the Father of Anakin? Read this! Very interesting!

When evening calls and I am here
poised at my keypad rapt in worded wonder,
thoughts of you invade my thinking
giving me this inkling that we have connected
in ways we don’t understand. Here I am,
just a man you had known now fully grown
and dabbling in these poetic pursuits.
And you, the woman who is drawn to my words,
drawing the inspirations found hidden there.
I can thank my lucky stars in this fortuitous sky
that we seem to have teamed up to create magic
in sight and sound, looking to orbit this universe
we are constructing. Written in the stars,
knowing that this moment is ours.
