LAST DAYS OF POMPEII

The days of him erupting were drawing to a close. Everybody knows that “death stare” hidden in every gasp and wheeze. It would have been easy to go out quickly than to have his candle flicker well into the afternoon. But the man had no quit. It was as if he were perpetual. Everlasting. More mountain than volcano. He was the rock upon which our family was founded. Strong, resilient, well-grounded. When his rumble finally ceased our number was decreased by one. But we lost so much more! One mighty volcano silenced. The last days of Pompeii.

Strength, solid and strong.
A long and storied legend
not lost in silence.

ACCEPT YOURSELF

Live each day well and wisely
We are here to love each other,
serve each other and uplift each other.
A kind word will keep someone warm for years.
Man is born to live and not prepare to live.
You already know the answer to the questions
lingering inside your head…
Happiness comes from a good life.
True wisdom is found in happiness.
You only need look to your own reflection
for inspiration. Because you are Beautiful!
You are not a person who can be ignored,
you create enthusiasm around you.
Keep your feet on the ground
even though friends flatter you.
Love because it is the only true adventure.
Love can last a lifetime, if you want it to.
The best is yet to come.
Be patient: in time, even an egg will walk.

NaPoWriMo 2016 – Day #13: “Fortune Cookie Poem”

WHEN FIRE AND WATER GO TO WAR WATER ALWAYS WINS.

Meeting adversity well is the source of your strength.
The man on the top of the mountain did not fall there.
Men do not fail… they give up trying.
Your skill will accomplish what the force of many cannot.
He who climbs a ladder must begin at the first step
The race is not always to the swift,
but to those who keep on running.
Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday
Do not worry, you will have great peace.
When fire and water go to war, water always wins.
