Day: April 7, 2016
A NEW SONG
In the presence of a bright morning sky,
birds prepare their lilting songs,
singing to the new day.
Heralding every next today
as the sunrise fills this newborn sky,
I join them in their melodic song,
I whistle softly to their song.
I’m in a peaceful mood today
as I stare up at the sunlit sky.
This is the day the Lord has made; fill the sky with song and be glad!

the Caribbean city intrigues.
Vitality is the personality
of this urban center.
Havana boasts of
a diverse architecture –
neoclassical, art deco, modern,
Colonial and baroque
(and if it ain’t baroque, no arreglarlo!)
A blend of history
(much a mystery) and music,
passionate poetics –
an adventure in culture,
a magical exploration…
The brochure paints a pretty picture,
but the mixture is less than ideal.
Still much to learn and discern.
