CHRIST IN THE WILDERNESS

Christ in the Wilderness by Stanley Spencer

He crawls around in green pastures
watching His “sheeple” closely.
They are mostly looking up, arms
raised in the wilderness like a wandering
multitude reduced by His “magnificence”.
It’s their chance to commune with nature
and suck up some of the Son’s rays.
Sundays always seem to bring them out!

Sheeple! I remember sitting on the wall of the FLW house in your header photo…isn’t it the headquarters for a publishing house?
