What that simple hello began,
this tender caress continues.
Hues of blushed skin and
heavy bursts of exhalation
exacerbates our situation.
Were you chilled to the bone
your reaction would be similar.
But the warmth of this touch
ignites the fire within
and still these fingers linger.

Written for Poets United – Verse First ~ Reaction
WOW! Lust and attraction, love and reaction, you cover the gamut; and you do so with brevity, well-chosen diction and just the right amount of provocation. Nice addition to the lot!
Thanks Kim. My instincts have been sidetracked of late. This one brings me back to near normal. A provocative prompt to say the least.
This is very tender….especially the lingering fingers.
Thanks for visiting Sherry. I’ve been told I write those feeling with passion and compassion. I just what my heart sees.
A very tender and passionate poem.
Kind words from you brings a smile to my face and confidence to my “pen”. I will continue to write those feelings. Thanks for stopping by!
I lust after this lovely poem 😉
Nice work.
Thanks Linda. I try to kindle the fire where it’s needed! 😉 If it warms you, my work is done!
But the warmth of this touch
ignites the fire within
Great lines that capture the moment. Well done.
The best stimulus for both parties involved, Alan. Eventually that kind of heat will burn unbridled with a single flame! Thanks for stopping by to comment.
wow, beautiful writing, Walt. Loved especially:
the warmth of this touch
ignites the fire within
and still these fingers linger.
Sensuality par excellence!
Thanks Mary. What better sense than a warm touch?
I like this voice flows very well – rhymes and near rhymes blending naturally – enjoyed this posting
Thanks Steven. You know I’m all about rhyme and near-rhyme, just glad it could flow as it did. Thanks for the comment.
A poem that contains that dangerous European charm factor…like a man that takes your hand spontaneously and kisses your finger tips 🙂
You saying I’m dangerous, Rallentanda? As long as it continues to draw you in to read, your fingertips will never lack for affection! 😉
I don’t know what I would have written about that picture but I don’t think I would have seen the beauty that you saw. This is a great piece.
Andrea, that’s very nice of you to say. My first instincts rarely fail me. I’m glad I don’t think about what I’m writing sometimes.
Walt,
You words are delighful and filled with very deep passion. A real goose-bump reaction:)
Eileen
Thanks Eileen. Deep passion and real goose-bumps seem to go together sometimes don’t they? 😉
Your passion is showing!
I know. I can’t keep it constrained. 😉 Thanks Sara.
