Sugar-coat it any way you want.
It can’t be that bad, but had I known
I wouldn’t have blown the time and cash
on a mad dash for a cure.
It can’t be that bad, but had I known
I would have shown you my heart.
On a mad dash for a cure,
I was almost sure we were on the mend.
I would have shown you my heart,
but every time I’d start, you’d shy away.
I was almost sure we were on the mend,
I would send doses of love to heal you.
But, every time I’d start, you’d shy away,
you would say you were fine (a fine line).
I would send doses of love to heal you,
thinking you’d respond to better treatment.
You would say you were fine, a fine line
keeping me at bay. I would say anything
thinking you’d respond to better treatment.
But now-a-days, your heart is D.O.A.
Keeping me at bay, I couldn’t say anything,
wouldn’t have blown the time and cash.
Now-a-days your heart is D.O.A.
Sugar-coat it any way you want.
